The “4 Paws for a CQ Cause” walk will take place in Emerald on Sunday the 18th of October 2015. This is a chance for the community to bring their four-legged friends out and fundraise for CQ Pet Rescue – Central Highlands only animal rescue organisation.
CQ Pet Rescue is run by a small committee of volunteers, and relies entirely on donations, fundraising and adoption fees for its operational costs. Nearly all of the money raised goes to vet costs for our foster animals, with only a very small amount going into administration and storage costs.
4 Paws for a CQ Cause is a new fundraising initiative for our organisation, and we hope that the Emerald community will get behind it!
The 3km track is suitable for all families, including strollers. It starts and ends at McIndoe Park, and runs through the Botanical Gardens.
At the end of the walk we will be holding a small awards ceremony. There will be Finish Line celebrations, including a Sausage Sizzle, dog agility and training opportunities, sponsored animal-related stands, and a small awards ceremony.
The walk finishes back at McIndoe Park, where all walkers will find:
- Dog agility, water pools, and treat stations for your best mate
- Market stalls for pet-related items
- BBQ sausage sizzle and cold drinks available for humans
- Maraboon vets are available for your questions
- Dog behaviouralists available for your questions and assistance
